What an effluent pump is (and what it is not)
An effluent pump is a submersible pump that moves treated liquid wastewater from the dosing chamber to the drain field. By the time water reaches the pump, it has already passed through the main septic tank, where solids settled out. The pump sees relatively clear liquid, not raw sewage.

Which systems need an effluent pump?
